Though I see your smile daily glow,
These days will pass-by all too soon,
Leaving an emptiness to grow,
Within me ’til I too shall swoon,
Alas, ’tis the fate of humans born…
But wait! Look at autumn’s full moon!
Do not shed tears, untimely mourn,
Sing now with me a living tune.

I love the title to this, the time element of mortality is well placed throughout and the last line soothes the now for the coming future.

Love this. So melancholic in its message not to mourn, one cannot help but mourn a little with a sad song of the living, and your poem feels like this song. Beautiful.

Thanks Barb…I just can’t seem to stay totally serious…most of my poems write themselves, I mean I have an idea of where I want to go when I start out, but then zap! all of a sudden i find myself somewhere else. I’m glad you liked and enjoyed it.
