Over the Void

Life’s bridge crosses a dark eternal void
That leads from yesterday ‘til the morrow
Your blinding illusions we can’t avoid.

My loving hopes were high and daily buoyed
Although your furrowed brow oft a shadow
Life’s bridge crosses a dark eternal void

Love’s fragile heart is easily destroyed
We trudge through anger as through a snow-storm
Your blinding illusions we can’t avoid.

Although life’s love should be freely enjoyed
Bitterly sorrow blinds your eyes, I know,
Life’s bridge crosses a dark eternal void

Screaming Ego raises his head annoyed
You push me away, and so I will go,
Your blinding illusions we can’t avoid.

Life’s walk is often a troubled pathway
And love if not nurthered will fade away
Life’s bridge crosses a dark eternal void
Your blinding illusions we can’t avoid.
