Haibun: Awake in a Dream

Awake in a Dream

Awakening from a dream, when it is still so close to you, is like walking in a new world.  The lovely sensations that were born of the night, follow your footsteps throughout the day, giving it a quality of magic.  Colors seem brighter, the wind is a caress, the birds sing with new vigor.  To be awake in a dream and dream when you’re awake.  Such a marvelous state of being!

  1. This is so beautiful.
Only thing – I got ABSOLUTELY drenched and freezing cold in the winter rain/downpour/gale yesterday – so for me it this verse is a kinda weird reminder of biting reality – and yet to hold onto those dream states …when I can. AND even try make fun and light for my people in the freezing downpour 😉
BRRRRR – (it was NASTY! – prefer snow – truly)

      • Mweh – comes with the territory hey 😉
Not the first time – but first time in UK – been drenched plenty in Africa – but that was LOVELY warm rain in bucketfills 😉
(still pretty hectic though!!) Its the COLD that is horrid – AND the little people getting it too – pretty hard carrying a four year old and her school bags AND an umbrella – not gonna happen right! LOL!

That misty rain is actually quite mystical hey – My son loves that weather. ( I still say its better with tropical climate though! 😉 )
