A month or so ago I was nominated by three great bloggers for the Blog of the Year Award 2013. As everyone knows I don’t do awards but I said I would do this one…in my own time. And that time has come!
First of all to the the dear bloggers who nominated me I’d like to thank you very much for your kind mention…and you who are reading this post can go and visit them here:
Morgan: In the Spirit of the Season
The rules:
1 Select the blog(s) you think deserve the ‘Blog of the Year 2013’ Award
2 Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen – there are no minimum or maximum number of blogs required – and ‘present’ the blog(s) with their award.
3 Let the blog(s) that you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the instructions with them – (please don’t alter the instructions or the badges!)
4 Come over and say hello to the originator of the ‘Blog of the Year 2013’ Award via this link – http://thethoughtpalette.co.uk/blog-awards-2/blog-of-the-year-2013-award/
5 You can now also join the ‘Blog of the Year’ Award Facebook page – click the link here https://www.facebook.com/groups/BlogoftheYear/ and share your blog posts with an even wider audience.
6 And as a winner of the award – please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award – and then proudly display the award on your blog … and start collecting stars…
The blogs whom I would consider blogs of the year stuff are:
The Paperbook Blog by Jayde Ashe Its been fascinating watching this blog grow and how Jayde has worked so hard to create her e-zine. I love her posts and enjoy her reviews. Thanks Jayde for a great blog!
The Poet’s Corner by Harry – Here is a blog that has been opened by Harry, a fantastic blogger and poet. The blog is administered by Harry but each poet who writes directly for the blog have their own category and write directly for the blog. It’s been a great experience to meet and write with so many great people!
Friday Fictioneers by Rochelle A wonderfully simple prompt write: 100 words for the photo that is presented each week…Rochelle leads the way writing her 100 words, and they are usually very moving!
We Drink Because We’re Poets by Sahm King this blog is not only a blog that inspires writers and photographers wot do their thing , but it is also a blog that features poets, has a daily quote that makes me smile very often and places I’ve never even been to but are there to be explored!
I’ve chosen to nominate service blogs…blogs that promote bloggers. There are really so many that I’m sure that some of the greatest blogs have been forgotten. I’d like to also mention here: The Speakeasy, Trefecta Challenge, Carpe Diem Haiku Kai, and Ese’s Voice: Ligo Haibun. In fact there are really so many that I would invite you to link here your favorite service blog!
Do you have a favorite prompt site…feel free to write the link here in my comments…I’d like to meet them too!
Happy New Year!
Thanks Bastet! I am so glad that you enjoy my blog, because I absolutely love yours too! Thanks for being a part of The Paperbook Collective in 2013. Here’s to an even better year in 2014! 🙂

I’m with you Georgia about awards. For me that anyone reads my posts is reward enough, and for many reasons I suppose a few people do and that’s just wonderful. Happy New Year.

Thanks Shainbird…I’ve been getting over the flu…and there has been a silver lining…I stopped smoking too. So…the New Year has had a great beginning I guess you can say!

Awesome! I read from your other dream post about the flu and smoking, I didn’t know then if it was part of the dream but now I must ask how did having the flu get you over smoking?

Couldn’t breath and smoke too…easy. So after not smoking for a few days, I said, why continue at all…so I stopped. Now I have two unopened packages of cigarettes laying around trying to tempt me to start again… 😉

And I thought nothing good could come from the flu. I wish you success! You should write a poem about those two packs 🙂 perhaps an ode.
