The Daimyo of the Palm Forest – Choka

wordle7Yojimbo Kami
Daimyo of the Palm Forest
Posing his loyal katana
Contentious – callous
In midnight letters wrote
Of his penitent journey

To Osaka on foot
The pilgrim Daimyo travelled
Yet, he did not find sweet peace
He sought out darkness
Refusing the golden light
Of the lotus in his heart

Yojimbo Kami
Blinded by continuousness
Haunty, he callously strode
Not a humble seeker he,
Arrogance – was his road
So satori was not found

Old and weak he slept
Then dreamed he of his mean life
A captive of his own soul
He could not escape
He watched his wretched actions
Like someone outside his skin

Humbled then at last
Tears running down his old cheeks
Like running water in streams
Yojimbo Kami
Became patron of the poor
The orphans sang his praises

    • I’ve been to both but only in my reading and in my dreams 😉 I really should have sent him to Kyoto in the spring, maybe then he would have changed his ways earlier 🙂

in shadows light - walking under weeping pines - spring rain
