      • I don’t know why I knew that, I just looked at the picture and thought: cold. Then I tried to figure out why I thought that, and I couldn’t figure it out.

        • Maybe the color of the lake … or the white in the mountains that kind of reminds one of snow. I’m thinking there must have been a subconcious stimulus…

          • The only factor I could think of was the full-length wet suits, and a vague memory of a deep pool, colder the farther down you go.

          • probably right about that too…here in Riva even in the summer people wear full body wet suits…especially if they go windsurfing…it gets plenty cold on the water in the wind.

          • The ocean is always cold, but the ponds and lakes warm up enough for bathing suits here. Rivers are usually cold. You sure live in a beautiful place.

          • Well, Lake garda, one of the largest lakes in Europe, is very very deep…so it doesn’t really get very warm, and yes it is very beautiful.

          • The biggest lakes here, the Great Lakes, (Erie, Michigan, Superior, Huron and Ontario) don’t get very warm, but we have lots of smaller lakes that do.

          • Oh yes, I know and beautiful they are too. I’ve always enjoyed lakes. I’ve never had much to do with the ocean, but the Med can be very beautiful and the Red Sea was divine! I used to snorkel when I lived in Eritrea and we’d go to Massawa to swim. Really beautiful.

          • 🙂 I too hope we can all see those places once again (I’m referring to the Red Sea off the Eritrean coast which is now practically a constant war zone).
