A simple greeting “Salem Aleikum” opened a window for him towards an exchange of friendship inspiring me to write these haiku.

salem aleikum
may you walk your path in peace
mash’allah effendi

desert winds – tundra
we walk the earth seeking peace
love binds us as one

may our hearts unite
under the bright sun and stars
we are one people

    • Thanks Melanie. I agree with you life is so short it is really a shame that we waste even a moment on hatred and prejudice. Thanks for your comment, Bastet

    • Thanks…I was afraid that the title would put people off…and in fact I got less reads than usual. I do so hope that people start getting over their Islamic phobia (and Christian phobia etc) soon.
