Haiku – Horizon June 14, 2014

Today’s prompt at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai is : Horizon

Here are some examples of the summer kigo taken from Jane Reichhold’s “A Dictionary of Haiku”, a modern Saijiki (list of kigo):

a high wave
bumping the horizon
curled by blue

evening
drawing a line of pink
mountains

on the horizon
waves by the buoy
bump the sky

Appia Antica

Appia Antica

Appia Antica
in the distant horizon
sheep graze

sailing

sailing

on the horizon
summer storm brewing
optimists

Through the Grass

Through the Grass

burnt summer grass
rustling in the breeze
morning horizon

I would like to say that I’m especially happy to hear that Chèvrefeulle’s father, who has been operated on recently has come through the operation well!

new horizons
years of happiness ahead
father and son
