Sunday Whirl – on Tuesday – June 17, 2015

1652Bright pink porcelain doll,
With habits to break,
Walked into a bar
For a special drink.

Drilled to be calm and helpful
The bartender said in a frazzle:
“What do you wish ma’am?”
Despite she had whistled.

“I’ll have me a pink lady
With six split ripened cherries,
And be you quite careful,
Without nary a pip!”

The man by the chimney
Who lived near Slim’s pit
Just off by the cliff pondered a bit,
About the doll being bald as a berry.

The flashy porcelain doll,
Drank her drink in one gulp
Then stared in amazement
At a sudden wild whoop!

There stood a wooden injun,
With green hair in his hands;
Here’s your scalp, fair Marianne …
‘Twas by the horse’s coral!

It was wet a bedraggled
Mucked up and soggy …
The doll gave a sigh and replied
“Oh how I feel so sad and sobby!”
