freshly tilled soil
fertile, pungent and black
early promise
golden upright kings
sprouting from the loamy soil
vibrant life
dead stalks strewn
upon the barren soggy soil
after the harvest
bare windswept fields
soil frozen under snow
silence

Ah beautifully depicted the 4 seasons “d’une recolte”. You could add this into your children’s section too. When describing the season’s of man’s life to children when I ran groups for Chidren and Bereavement, the seasons made sense. Love the photos you included, ma chère…my first read on my android…had a lazy day home today.

Glad to hear you had a lazy day … one needs them from time to time. Sounds like an interesting idea to creat a children’s section … I’d have to use original drawings though hmmmm. Thanks for the idea!

Well, now is the time to start collecting photos AND asking your grandkids to sketch under certain titles…I was thinking of asking my daughter to do some sketches and asking a colleague to model for some photos.

Now that sound like an interesting idea!

I was thinking more on those lines … black and white etchings.

Etchings seem quite fitting…it must not show UP the writing just add to it:)

Agreed … and easier to look at in an electronic book too.

I just killed my Kobo ereader…rolling over it in bed…darn! I prefer it to a tablet as it is the older model where the battery lasts weeks…so great to take on trips.

Darn! .. did it crack? This is really a bad month for electronics!

I’ve always enjoyed his strange approach to the four seasons. I probably should have used him for another poem and found something Japanese for this one, but well that’s just how it worked out!

A wonderful set. To create a slide of images/attributes of soil during different seasons was a great idea.

Oh, I love that art and I love your haikus. I’m really enjoying catching up with you. Sorry to have been MIA from back pain. MRI is Wed and that should help me figure out what is going on. Hope you are well! Warmly, Brenda

I am buying a new mattress today, and I hope it solves the problem. I just have trouble finding my joy and magic when my back hurts so much. I don’t want to eat, read, blog. Sigh. I have an MRI on Wednesday. I hope to get it sorted soon. I have so much I want to do!!

Hopefully the new mattress will do the trick, it really is terrible I know when back pain sets in. The MRI will probably be able to give some indications as to what’s causing the problem, you might what to look into chiropracters et al too. They often help as does a good shiatsu thereapist…the magic word though is good….
