Winter in Summer – June 21, 2014

Fantasy
June, walking in snow
Midsummer
Midwinter
If I should go down-under
Mind boggling idea!

But again this is no fantasy for my Aussie friends …

Shortest day
In australia
Longest day
In Europe
What a lovely symmetry
Our small planet, Earth!

A shadorma is composed of six non-rhyming lines (sestina or sextet) and the syllable pattern is 3-5-3-3-7-5.  It can have as many stanzas as you like, just as long as each stanza follows the syllable pattern mentioned above .  You have a week to create you poems so be patient and let the photo inspire you!  Or use your own photograph or art work!

  1. Love the way you’ve connected us — opposites but perfectly balancing one another!
And don’t we always imagine that the weather is better “on the other side” – desiring snow in June/July, and heat in January/February! 😉

  2. What an appropriate shadorma for today!!! Summer solstice and in aussie they are experiencing the shortest day…we are connected completely…um, but they can keep their winter OR I will trade ours with theirs.

  3. And now the days for us northerners will get slightly shorter…
I can only travel to Australia in my mind at the moment –
helped to take the burn off this hot morning 🙂
So much to do while the weather is good.
Looking forward though to getting home and ‘out of the drought’ here in CA.

    Thanks for visiting ‘lively’.
