Fantasy
June, walking in snow
Midsummer
Midwinter
If I should go down-under
Mind boggling idea!
But again this is no fantasy for my Aussie friends …
Shortest day
In australia
Longest day
In Europe
What a lovely symmetry
Our small planet, Earth!
A shadorma is composed of six non-rhyming lines (sestina or sextet) and the syllable pattern is 3-5-3-3-7-5. It can have as many stanzas as you like, just as long as each stanza follows the syllable pattern mentioned above . You have a week to create you poems so be patient and let the photo inspire you! Or use your own photograph or art work!

I really liked that. It was the first thing I’ve read today and what a great start 🙂

Love the way you’ve connected us — opposites but perfectly balancing one another!
And don’t we always imagine that the weather is better “on the other side” – desiring snow in June/July, and heat in January/February! 😉

Yes you’re right about that! Glad you liked the shadorma! 🙂

What an appropriate shadorma for today!!! Summer solstice and in aussie they are experiencing the shortest day…we are connected completely…um, but they can keep their winter OR I will trade ours with theirs.

LOL I was reading a post yesterday from Australia and the writer was talking about the shortest day of the year, being so cold etc and I got disoriented for a second! And I’d already written the prompt hours before! Talk about distracted!

And now the days for us northerners will get slightly shorter…
I can only travel to Australia in my mind at the moment –
helped to take the burn off this hot morning 🙂
So much to do while the weather is good.
Looking forward though to getting home and ‘out of the drought’ here in CA.
Thanks for visiting ‘lively’.

🙂 Glad I could take some of the burn off your hot morning. Yes, in our part of the world the days grow shorter now … I know that I’m always really happy when winter solstice comes around, because the days grow longer! It’s really interesting to think about the two events happening at the same time. Have a nice trip home! 🙂
