Carpe Diem’s Tackle It Tuesday – Regularity – August 18, 2014

This is our second episode of “Tackle It Tuesday” in which I will introduce the second “ity” based on “The Song of the 18-ity’s” by Sri Swami Sivananda (1887-1963).

The “ity” for this week is “Regularity”. Regularity is the base of everyone’s life, but it is also the base of your spiritual exercise. It’s the best way to calm your spirit (mind).

I must admit, that the first thought that came to mind when I read this week’s “ity” was the irreverent thought of bowel regularity …

Kyoka

after thirty years
his lamented constipation
continues to be
a constant unsolved problem
discussed with regularity

Now that I’ve gotten that out of my system:

meditation
communing with inner self
a daily pattern

one foot at a time
at the same hour and moment
the pilgrim’s path

regularity
the pathway to inner peace
moments of serenity
