From the vapors of my senescence
My fractured mirror trembles
That mephitic object of alarm
No longer caresses my narcissistic ego
But raises an alarm
Of the threshold of my passing ..
A poltergeist would be more welcome
Than this gargoyle hanging here
With it’s lovely ivory frame
Saying: “and you my queen – nevermore.”

As always Georgia you have used the words so very well. I have not ever thought of you as old nor smelly though. ‘the vapors of my senescence’….I did like that opening.
