a dream in a dream
sand slipping through old fingers
autumn leaves turn red
rain drops like tears
all we see or seem to be
an eternal dream

Linked to Carpe Diem Haiku Kai where Jen from Blog it or Lose it it! is today’s Ghost Writer, her subject, Edgar Allen Poe’s great poem “A Dream Within A Dream .. here’s a link to my Blogger post at Bastet’s Waka Library where I wrote an auto-renga for the same prompt.
On a grand scale, it really is like the leaves are sand slipping through thin old fingers….rain drops and tear drops like sand in an hourglass ….[sigh]
And your photos are magnificent — the layout and all — goes so well with this. 🙂

That first haiku is really a masterpiece Georgia and I love to use it in one of our upcoming Tan Renga Challenges .. if that’s ok.
