To Roger …
I just heard, you ended your voyage,
Your walk through this mortal coil
Was never easy for you …
A broken family
A harsh father …
Born in a world of throw-back values …
An African colonial child
Never Italian – never American
You roamed the planet
Looking for a home.
We walked together for a short time
And it was a good walk then …
But you needed something,
Which you could never define
And like a prisoner you began your
Searching and wandering …
You left your family …
You travelled far …
Like a gypsy month
Going from flower to flower …
Until, you were shot down by your heart
Not more than a month ago …
And then,
You seemed to be the boy that we all knew,
I’m happy you made peace your son
Happy sailing …
May your skies always be clear.

My son just called me to tell me his father (my ex) has passed on. Funny … how even though we’ve not spoken in years, it’s like he was always close by some where. Thanks Jen.

Nothing to say really. I’ll be signing off for the moment though… it’s late and I can’t seem to write at the moment more than I’ve written. Thanks dear for the hugs and your affection.

This is so sad, but as always, I’m so impressed with the beauty of how you approach it. My condolences.

Thanks … we’ve been divorced for years, but it was still a shock to know he’s passed on – which surprised me. We were very young, about the same age when we got married, and in the end we were more like brother and sister, who’d become estranged.

I’m so sorry, Georgia, for your loss. What a lovely tribute you have written and it seems he was finally at peace with people important to me him before he passed. Gros Câlin, ma chère…we are getting a bigger fan club for our turn some day. xxx

I was surprised at the feeling of loss that I felt, kind of confusing actually, after all I’ve not seen him in around 20 years … but I was so glad that he made peace with at least one of his sons. Thanks for your thoughts Cher. xxx

When someone passes, it always gives us an opportunity to “scan” our heart properly and let go with peace. Big hugs to you, Cara.

Working from home helped…I took my time…took photos of the snow transforming the scenery every hour and that helped a lot. Scanned nice photos of my mom too, hope to print them tomorrow for Saturday

Glad you had home time … My ex-husband isn’t at all like losing a parent or someone who is still close to one in life. It’s more like flashes of memory jump up and one feels a little sorry that things went astray. Are your son and daughter near?

Too right, I’d forgotten what a mess the weather is on your side of the pond. Bette may not be good at mousing, but she must be lovely keeping company. Bet she’s happy to have you home too.
