A Lone Tree – Chained Haiku – December 20, 2014

in a snow glaring field
stands a tree

misty thoughts
of years ago when others stood
pass through its rings

of moving life and swaying friends
long past

in the distance
lights cover the valley
a singing wind

on a lone tree in an empty field
a sparrow lands
