  1. Since the Birth was rather an urgent affair, I can’t help but wonder if the straw was fresh, or if Mary and Joseph just used what was available. (Sorry, I couldn’t refrain!)

    • (No problem) .. if the story is true, I think there would be a bit of doubt as to the “freshness” of the “barn” in general … and it wouldn’t have been straw in the manger I, think but hay, because that’s where the cows eat and they don’t eat straw.
