Merry Christmas
2014
snow falls
wind builds high drifts
silence
white Christmas morn dawns
in my childhood mind’s eye

opening gifts
Styrofoam snows ’round the room
white Christmas
this pink dawn
everyone is sleeping
maybe dreaming

sings of cold snowy sleigh rides

Cool and love that you used juvenescence – wherever did you find that word!

I love obscure words like that– though, I rarely get to use them. 😀

I do so understand you it’s really so rewarding! That particular word isn’t so obscure to me as I speak Italian and it has it’s roots in Latin … besides, Juventus is also the name of a football team here ;-).

No kidding !!!! That’s an interesting coincidence alright. 🙂
Yes, I think sometimes folks think I’m just being pedantic, but I love being able to rely on a good vocabulary to express myself clearly. 🙂

Exactly … one of my favorite “light” writers is Elizabeth Peters in real life she was an archaeologist named Barbara Mertz …. besides writing in an amusing fashion she peppers her work with some of the most glorious vocabulary I’ve ever come across and it doesn’t sound at all affected, she knows how to use her words!!

Yes, I think I have come across her work, and she is very witty and interesting.
It’s funny how undervalued a good vocabulary is these days, especially considering, with all our online connections, how important it is to make yourself understood.
But, I can certainly grunt when I need/want to, as well. 😀

Well … they say that people usually have a vocabulary of around a thousand or so words … which in the case of English is really a shame as English is one of the richest languages in the world … there may be a hidden reason for this … uhm … I’m sure that with Jen we could probably come up with the answer to this arcane problem. Surely though with online connections one can always check new words out and really build ones vocabulary! And, yes … one must be able to grunt as well … Ook 😉

😀 Hey– you’re good–
you’ve done that grunting thing before. 😀
Can you imagine being limited to a couple hundred words? Yow!

Lol … That should have been in quotation marks … Terry Pratchett’s Librarian. And no, I can’t imagine being limited to a couple of hundred words!

Love the imagery here, Georgia — and the photo doodles are very sweet too!
We had a bit of Styrofoam snow here, too, today.
And um — I don’t know why use so few words either. o.O
