Morning Haiku and Waka – January 17, 2015

field flowers

field flowers

early blooms
prophets of spring-time
white snow drops

purple crocus
hidden in a snow drift
spring thoughts

yellow Primula
in a sunny patch of woods
blossoms

even in the snow
spring coyly visits the earth
early drops of warmth
in fields, woods and city parks
brighten these long cold days

  1. Two days ago I saw my first snow drops peeping up around a lake, today I saw my first snow – so your poems were perfectly timed 🙂

    Btw a ‘planned blackout’..?

    • Yes .. the power company or maybe someone else had to work on the underground lines … these whether phone lines, water lines or electric all run under the road and when some work is to be done, we are notified that our electric will be shut off for a couple of hours.
