Morning Haiku and Waka – February 10, 2015

standing on the shore dreaming
wisps of wind calling

ducks, coots a gull’s pass
in the stillness a sparrow
the sun bids farewell

a lonely soul
sings a sunset Pavane
lake winter sunset

the evening bay
ripples of light in water
first stars appear

a winter sunset
inside a desolate soul
beauty’s memory
and maybe time’s passage
is a game played by gulls

    • Glad you enjoyed it Hank … I do so love sunsets … and that one came out particularly interesting. Thanks for the comment and yes freedom is the ultimate goal! Georgia.

  1. I really love the “wisps of wind calling” – so tender and open to interpretation; and the game of gulls at the end. A real journey, with some wonderful lines.
