“The bow is life: the source of all energy. The arrow will leave one day. The target is a long way off. But the bow will stay with you, and you must know how to look after it. It requires periods of inaction – a bow that is always armed and braced loses its strength. Therefore, allow it to rest, to recover its firmness; then, when you draw the bow-string, the bow will be content, with all its strength intact.”

The Way of the Bow
I stretch my bow
once each day an arrow flies
I know not where
this old bow
shoots many arrows
into the world
arrow and woman
at one with the bow hunt
life’s eternal truths
then resting peacefully
she renews her energy

Beautifully done — and very much in tune with Paulo’s/ Chevrefeuille’s message. 🙂

Great interpretation cara. I’m enjoying this book by Coelho. I’m finding it different than the few I’ve read by him

He is very popular in Quebec. There are some books I have had to put down and come back a year later…I think I feel closer to my friend in Brazil when I read his works:)
