beep – beep … vrummm … screech!
choking in the smog at noon
lovely city spring
a shrill scree – kree!
humph – that bird today at dawn
irritating cock*
chitter chattering
dawn to dusk crowing buzzing
life in the country
ting tang ting tang ting —
insistent bells announce
the nine o’clock train
ta-thump ta-thump
hear this inner drum beat –
life

Noise everywhere! I like how you’ve ended the series with a call for peace and stillness. 🙂

The noise of reality unless you live in the country…I’m in the burbs. I stuck to that:) I wonder if you could have added a few drivers shouting at each other…haha

Well … the country can be pretty noisy too … I’ve lived in places where the frogs put up a concert that made you think there was a flying saucer out in the fields … as for drivers shouting … I’d have to do that at Walking With Sekhmet … here they’d burn you ears!

At my childhood home by the river the bullfrogs are so loud, I used to think they were cows mooing across the river and the crickets pierce your ears when it is very hot…but we have the added trains shunting and changing tracks being about 500 metres from the tracks. I think the river makes the echo louder too
