Morning Haiku and Waka – April 20, 2015

tumbling water
falling creates new paths
feeding the river
meeting water creatures – flows
and finally reaches the sea

the rain falls
upon the stones and flowers
soft water falls

life’s web
every creature united
by unseen strands

majestic ocean
tumbling water fall
placid lake
all united in life’s web
– this tiny drop of rain

sweet melody
in the warm summer forest
waterfall symphony
with an insect chorus
a hymn to joy

This post was inspired by Carpe Diem Haiku Kai – Time Glass Challenge and is linked to Haiku Shuukan as well.  From Haiku Shuukan:

“All conflicts around the globe emerge from the same delusion, the illusion of separateness, but all is connected and we all are part of it. To recognize and acknowledge that we are part of it is the first what we have to do. And not only based on the concept. We have to decide that we are touched by it”.

Joan Halifax

I was looking for the waterfall scene from the French film “Minuscule” which I couldn’t find … but I found this series of shorts about the little creatures created by Hélène Giraud e Thomas Szabo and thought I’d share it with you all!

  1. Yes! A hymn to joy the whole way through. [Ahhhh!]

Have bookmarked the video for later — funny! — but it shows a deep love of nature too. I **loved** the locust “carnaval” music!

    • Thanks Hamish … you are always very encouraging in your comments bring me a lot of pleasure! I don’t know of any secrets to tell the truth and often wonder what people read in my poems … basically I write because I like to write and hope someone enjoys what I have to say.

  2. Oh, Bastet, such a beautiful cascade of waterfalls in your words. And I just spent an hour watching a video instead of getting something done. thanks for the break ; )

  3. A lovely series, cara, qui démontre le lien entre nous et la nature! What a treat to see this video after a long shift!! I watched all of them but then another series comes up…it just won’t stop!! The last one with the bubble gum is a perfect example on the ripple effect of human behaviour. I always think of the birds when I have a gum in my mouth and don’t spit it out on the ground but never thought of the impact on these little critters. This video should be recommended to Chèvrefeuille for meme on Little Critters!! 🙂 I finally cancelled the interviews…tv. as well…stressed me out too much

    • I’m glad you enjoyed the link … I didn’t see the video about birds and bubble gun… perhaps you could send a link to Chèvrefeuille … sorry you cancelled your interviews, I thought you liked doing them! Anyway … glad you’re resting up.

      • No it is the seventh one I think. Titled chewing gum with insects. No birds. That was my comment that I am careful not to spit my gum on the ground so birds don’t get sick.
