Today’s episode at CDHK  is dedicated to Basho’s visit to  Urami (no take) Falls where he went into a 60 day retreat, prescribed for Buddhist monks each summer.  Though not a Buddhist monk … I think this might be a very wise thing to do from time to time.

    • Perhaps there are moments when one must do exactly that … or lose that vital energy to keep on working! In Europe as you might know most working people have their month long vacation (some do divide their retreat periods into two two week vacationss) that seems pretty good to me right now!

    • Ah Nonnie I’ve heard of the American rainfalls .. we’ve mostly had bright sunshine here in Italy … but as I write this though the morning is cloudy and a few rain drops have begun to fall!

    • Hmmm … I must have got stuck in the rain … what usually makes me grumpy isn’t so much the rain but sweating under the hot sun. Takes all kinds I guess.
