refreshing garden
seen from afar in summer
exciting imagination
exciting imagination
dreaming of knights and ladies
just beyond the moat
just beyond the moat
and maybe four hundred years
oasis of flowers
oasis of flowers
caught with my camera
at Arlesega

Today Chèvrefeuille explained the relationship of “arts” as a modern kigo to summer … please click on the link for the full explanation and Chèvrefeuille’s wonderful post … below are haiku written by Jane Reichhold using the “arts” kigo and a photo and haiku by Chèvrefeuille.
covered with pollen
looking deep into a flower
camera lens
holding the day
between my hands
the new clay bowl
waterfall painting
dripping enough water
to tint the rock

waterlilies reach
from the mud to the bright sun
straight through the water

man, this is a cool write.

Well … it wasn’t as nice as San Giorgio was and way hotter, but that bit of garden on the other side of the moat under the protective wall of the villa was really very beautiful.

If it weren’t for my camera, I wouldn’t be much of an artist at all, so I can relate to your last verse.

I love that cascading way of composing haiku …. it’s a short story caught in just a few lines. Chapeau!

Thanks … that’s what I like about the cascading haiku … less complicated than a choka less prose unlike a haibun.
