Monday Wordle – Free Verse Wordle – June 16, 2015

“delve into the dregs
of your magniloquence, my friend
then create a murky potion
of power and of influence
create for her
your most seductive panegyric

from your reservoir of intellect
delve into those sweet nothings …
no strictures do I require
I commission
convincing cloying compliments

tape each frame tonight
upon a lofty windswept hill
illuminated by lurid spot lights
thus I’ll marinate the shrew
and then cook her
in her own infinite vanity.”

sitting in a quiet place
near the pond inside the park –
I heard those prickly words pronounced …
a shiver went down my spine

I listened to that crackly voice
which sent my imagination off to wonder:
for whom would the potion be prepared
and who – the commissioner

I never found the answers
for there was a sudden silence
my presence had been discovered –
I quickly slipped away

a nightmare woke me this eve …
there was that haunting cackling voice –
I pondered and reflected
on the lauds and compliments
floating on the public waves.

  1. An absolutely stunner Georgia! Really powerful and the flow – oh the flow – is amazing. I love how you have narrated it – and the witness – and the haunting nightmare/dream. It all works so well – just a gem! 😀

      • Glad to encourage! but remember – it should be tasking you to death – it has to be for you – and it has to feel like a play time; and I’m not referring to the times when it’s really hard “work” and you keep at it – but remember Georgia – it’s okay to step back a little and think about what you want to do – or where you want to focus your time and efforts. 😀
