asamutsu ya tsukimi no tabi no ake banare

bridge of morning
a journey of moon-viewing
at dawn

With this haiku came a preface: “When we crossed the bridge of Asamutsu, which is popularly known as ‘Asazu’, I recall a passage in ‘The Pillow Book of Sei Shanagan (a female poet) who wrote: “The most interesting bridges are the bridge of Asamutsu, (and of Nagara and of Amabiko)”. This is the very bridge.”

        • Lovely Idea … right now, I’m slowly taking down all my poetry … rather converting to pages to put at the top of the blog … a very long process. So sometimes I think a whole new blog would be a good idea … kind of start all over.

          • Oh gosh, dear–that sounds like WORK. New blogs are “free therapy” for me–seriously! When I get bent out of shape about “life”, I just start a new one–I like “decorating” them: new name, find a great new header image, etc etc. Gives me a lift–without spending a dime! And if I want my old followers, I just go around and tell ’em where I’ve relocated–If not, there’s always a new batch of readers…. It’s the “poor poet’s panacea”: can’t afford a vacation, or to move to a better neighborhood?? Free blogs, folks!

          • See there?! You could do it just for kicks–and if you don’t end up using it, there’s no loss but a bit of time. In fact–there’s a nice little cottage open here in Panache Palms…I’ll hold it for you, and when you call the office just tell ’em you’re a friend of mine! (Isn’t imaginary life FUN?)
