Morning Haiku and Waka – August 7, 2015

Monochromed Flipearly bells ringing
the swallows are drunk on gnats
another hot morn

heat haze
shimmering on the mountains
as night becomes day

sombre thoughts
death passes close today
ah –  remembering
those who’ve gone away
alive somewhere within me

ah – those words
meanings within meanings
hidden and open
what really stands behind them?
loneliness and sorrow

“I want to be a star”
even a star
can quickly go nova
illuminating the sky

  1. Sounds like you are in the midst of times you lost someone…my thoughts are with you, cara! swallows drunk on gnats…love that line!! it is much cooler here…it is 2:30am here and 16 C and 22C expected Friday…weekend should go up to 27 but the nights are fresh and rain…sheesh…every day rain, thunder, more rain. I spent 7 days of my vacation doing NOTHING…just reading, writing a bit and zoning out…feels good!

in shadows light - walking under weeping pines - spring rain
