abandoned
two lost soles waiting
on the door step.
§
teeter-tottering
midnight laughter in the park
the revellers
like wayward children playing
under moonshine fumes
§
waddling ducks
he pursues his lady-love
quaking with laughter
§
weaving in the night
those drunken tourists roamed
but made no cloth

On The Trail With Basho Encore #11 drinking friends (humor)
and here is a delightful haiku by Basho:
sake nomi ni katara n kakaru taki no hana
drinking friends
to talk I’ll hang over like this
a waterfall of flowers

and our host:
on the way home
drunken sailors bend over
to vomit
it’s a strange sight
like a waterfall they fall
drunken sailors
Ah! that sight
a waterfall of flowers
when vomiting

I do so love playing with words and those shoes were ideal for a pun … took the photo last year, I always wondered about the girl who’d lost them!

Pair of shoes at the door step is reminiscent of a young lady about to leave the nest. It can be for many reasons. But mostly it is to break from the apron strings to venture out and seek their own fortune. Well penned Georgia!
