Carpe Diem My favorite haiku by … #1 Matsuo Basho (1644-1694): a snowstorm of flowers
Today there is a wonderful new features at Carpe Diem – from the poet chosen for each episode, we are to choose our favourite haiku … not easy, today’s haiku poet is Basho and there are decidedly many of his poems that I would call – my favourite! Once we choose the poem we should try to revise it … I’ve chosen to at least try to write in the same spirit and tone …
Very lovely and poignant.

First, I’m astonished that we both selected the same haiku to revise. Second, I’m delighted that both of us ended up in different places with our revisions. Isn’t it amazing how the muses work?

I agree .. how delightful that the muses found such a different take on the same starting point! 🙂
