rough seas – haiku and tanka – August 15, 2015

so many rough seas
navigated through these years
in different lands
Italy to Africa
blessings of experience

§§§

huddled in a coat
sea breeze whips up the waves
autumn squall

§§§

walking on the beach
winter grey – sea and sky
gulls sit on the trees

§§§

lightning – and wind howls
in the bay of Savona
rough winter seas

§§§

    • So true –

      desert and sea
      camel ships and chariots
      sails and canoes
      voyages were longer then
      the world felt somehow bigger

and yes everyone loved to smile more I think …

  1. Beautiful, cara!! I am often reminded of rough waters for sailing in August…the winds pick up and years ago we had our regatta…catamarans from the US and all over Canada came to race on Lake Champlain where we camped on Labour Day weekend.
