in October
the queen of the season blooms
white chrysanthemum
outside the grave yard
vases of chrysanthemums
to brighten the tombs
Italy remembers death
with falling leaves and mums

Nice pairing. France also paints the graveyards with mums at All Saints.

October being the queen of the seasons makes for a beautiful haiku. Falling leaves and chrysanthemums is a lovely image.

YOu know, without knowing my stepfather bought Chrysanthemum (pompoms) and I added the roses for the burial of my mother’s ashes not realizing the significance:) I love your haiku and photo, Georgia…truly brings the souls alive as their memory should be kept alive.
