Morning Haiku and Waka – September 15, 2015

Coffee Beans

breaking dawn
before I drink my coffee
this foggy morning
ragged ribbons of light
float through the clouds

before mankind talked
were the constellations
nameless?

the twins chattering
[before going to sleep]
about cranes and wolves
weaving fantastic stories
in counterpoint harmony

  1. Good question! I have to think that even before speech the ancient ones saw patterns from life . .. but … what do I know? LOL 🙂 Enjoying the way you’ve woven several stories into one larger one. Nicely done! 😀

  2. I feel so brainless when there are prompts about constellations, however, some of it makes get back into my highschool Latin classes and mythologies. But you write such a beautiful morning waka…I see that I have missed many of your lovely poems, cara…and everyone else for that matter…slow motion is the pace of autumn for me as.

    • Me too! I skipped some of them all together .. and just took a general view not writing to the constellations after the first few. I’m way behind myself reading (again) but life has a way of preventing me from reading as much as I’d like … well more precisely hubby … but he is part of my life 😉
