Looking at the news today
I see more fruitless acrobatics
of our fearless talking heads
whilst the sands of time continue
to flow inexorably
into infinite oblivion.
What can the meaning be I ask
of sifting through this sandy chaff
looking for the heart of reason
in the wooden minds of men
dedicated to their causes
born in infinite oblivion.
Holding onto patient reason
whilst swaddled in emotional fluff
searching for logic and truth
where neither have ever been
patience is strength they say
[or maybe just infinite oblivion].
Bullets fly in place of stones
[the blood that flows is always red]
men still kill for their almighty truths
[those emissions of mental onanism]
children cry and die – the poor are yet poorer
And our leaders sit debating – in infinite oblivion

The writing is extraordinary and that repeating line really delivers a heck of a punch. Really love this piece!

It’s so accurate, and usually folks possessed of them are oblivious…

And lest I sound judgmental, there are surely areas where I have wooden head syndrome, so I’m oblivious sometimes too–not 100% self-aware (but I’d guess 90% so)!

I think we all have some wooden headedness … as a kid we used to say, it takes one to know one … so there you are, your speaking to Pinocchio’s sister 😉

You have defined our politics here. Our candidates have started their rhetoric for presidency.
And not a one speaks with a verbiage that makes any sense.
I do like these collages inspirations. We all go in such different directions.

Yes I agree they are very inspirational!
