Acrostic
Standing there bravely
Tall and thin by day
On my bookshelf they waited
Ready for me
Youthful readers
Bound in gold and red
One about a princess
One an over worked maid …and
Knights in shining armour
Heralding mighty kings –
Earnest and honest
Riding white steeds –
Onward we travelled
Each evening at bed time
Staving off dangers as I fell asleep.

Oh my goodness, you’re truly off and running–what a fabulous acrostic!!!! Well done, Bastet. I’ll have to go see if there’s a prompt….oh, and I LOVE that badge; I assume we can all use it, who are planning to participate.

Thanks J … I love acrostics they’re a lot of fun … tomorrow I’m scheduling (once again) a Palindrome .. let’s see if it’s up to snuff .. as for prompts … there’s a prompt a day that you can use if you like (I wrote this yesterday and was so happy that it came up as a prompt!) Of course you can use the badge and I don’t know yet who will participate .. but last year there was a great group!

My acrostic, clouds, will post in a couple hours–it’s finished, and I’m reasonably pleased. I love acrostics too. I won’t be linking up though–it gets too hairy for me, as the challenge-event is on Blogspot. So I’ll be reading yours, and I think another of our friends is participating–not sure if it was Paloma or Ivy who mentioned it. We’ll keep busy, that’s for sure!

Fantastic … I’ve not been able to do much today online .. I’m working with a friends computer that got spammed really pad … you might want to link with me instead of Blogspot and so anyone who reads my post will see your link .. I’m happy that others will be participating … 🙂

Yep … but like Avis I try harder (and still don’t make the grade either 😉 )

Yeah, but be careful…that trying harder can wear you out; and as you note, it doesn’t always succeed. One of my main goals for the remainder of my life, is to “be enough” in my own eyes–if no one else’s. I’m happy to report some success 🙂

I always love my story book heroes and heroines! I’ve created a few of my own, but the only ones that I may eventually publish really aren’t suitable for the kiddies!
I enjoyed your fun acrostic. 🙂

This brings back so many memories of reading in bed, my parents yelling at me that “you’ll ruin your eyes!”

Good to see you too … writing so much haiku and waka, I’ve neglected the other forms and forgot, as you say, how wonderfully fun they can be. Thanks for the compliment!
