prolix verbiage
blah blah blahs in emptiness
flowered rhetoric
the talking heads talk and talk
as the nation sleeps – bored
watch TV debates
eating stale crisps and nachos
explosive boredom
blah blah blahs in emptiness
as the nation sleeps – bored
10 o’clock news
same news with new hype and spin
breathless comments
blah blah blahs in emptiness
as the nation sleeps – bored
social networks thrive
half-baked intellectuals
tweeting and buzzing
blah blah blahs in emptiness
as the nation sleeps – bored
prolix verbiage
words thrown across the waves
passing the time
blah blah blahs in emptiness
as the nation sleeps – bored

Yes, but violence is frowned on…even though it’s the way of the world.

Violence is frowned on … bah … football, movies, tv sitcoms, news broadcasts as the Lady said:
“Out, damn’d spot! out, I say!—One; two: why, then
’tis time to do’t.—Hell is murky.—Fie, my lord, fie, a soldier, and afeard? What need we fear who knows it, when none can call our pow’r to accompt?—”

Oh sure, violence in sports–people love it. But when it takes to the streets, or the bedroom…no one likes to talk about it, let alone address the issue, fix it.

I often feel the same way. I like the use of repetition of the last two lines which gives a microcosm of the feeling you’re trying to convey, the vain repetition. 🙂
