This piece is the result of an interesting puzzle set by Chèvrefeuille at Mindlovesmisery’s Menagerie … write an acrostic in haiku form which he calls an Acrostichon … or a Acrostichon which uses a Liaison in the middle of two ku like a bridge to create two different words .. here are some examples:

Sweet memories
Under the old appletree
Newly weds

© Chèvrefeuille

Only eyes for you
Naked she lays on the beach
Everlasting love

The Acrostichon and a Liaison. In this one the Acrostichon is AUTUMN and the liaison is TUTU.

A rainy day
Under the umbrella
Tears of joy
United again by
Music of the Swanlake
Newly weds

Perfect way
Of writing haiku
Eastern thoughts
Tulip bulbs
Redder than red
Year after year

  1. These are quite tricky, exceptionally crafted. I’ve got a simple one I shall post shortly I don’t believe I’ll attempt a liaison–other than with my ghost-love, later…
