Reflections – Haibun – December 2, 2015

lagoon reflections

That autumn morning, I stopped to look at the lagoon. It was like looking into a topsy-turvy world or an impressionistic painting.  Each ripple of a duck’s dive, a leaf that fell into the water or a breath of wind, made the image shimmer adding a dream-like dimension to the scene.  The algae swayed under the water, a tiny prehistoric forest.

  1. Ah cara!! I can see the movement in that prehistoric forest and breath of the wind. So many beautiful visual metaphors ma chère! finishing with a stunning haiku…the first and third line can be placed interchangeably and still it flows beautifully! I decided to make my haibun a six sentence story:) thanks to my finding it on your blog. Merci!
