A Ghost Story – Choka – December 21, 2015

Ghost

there it walks alone
in the dusty corridors
visiting old loves
and memories grown pallid
a strange ghost is this
who at every turn
neither moans nor howls
only touching this old world
with sweet nostalgia
over the rough stony stairs
it leaves no signs
of its illusive passing

unlike the wayward
its life had known fulfillment
and this pilgrimage
is a sentimental journey
awaiting those left behind

  1. Wow! Extremely clever in the telling. A ghost returning for those needing guidance. One would normally receive a chill from such a tale but fear is not the created intention. A sensitive ghost, how could anyone be rejecting. What an encouraging story in poetic form, each word of five fitting their places perfectly. What a beautiful story. – jk

  2. This is beyond mere “words” I can describe–Stellar, Brilliant–WOW–BRAVO! I’d read it again for inspiration for my poem, but I’m afraid I’d infringe on your beautiful creativity… 🙂
