Encounter of Ages – Free Verse – December 26, 2016

On this cold winter’s day
I look onto perfection
The meeting of dawn’s light
And the closing of day
This marvel of creation
Lay arm in arm together …
In this momentous moment
My heart fills with peace
My mind knows true love
As the spring and the winter
Come together I sigh with awe …
Now life’s continuity
Through its endless cycles
Is no longer a stale thought
But a vibrant reality
As I look onto this scene
Of the encounter of the ages
On this cold winter’s day

    • Thanks Micheal … we had a serene Christmas, which is good. I’m happy you liked the poem and the vision I was trying to create here. I hope you had a loving Christmas with lots of joy!

  1. I think we can see perfection in both the new and the old.
And we (you and I) are far from ‘old’ – I was just looking at a news article where four women who were 100 were sitting bright eyed around a table making New Year’s resolutions. 🙂

Best to you in the New Year! Hugs, Jules

    • A lovely greeting and hugs are never inappropriate … I hope your holidays have gone well so far (my son was here so Christmas was not at all tough). Big hugs to you too!

  2. thanks for sharing such a poignant piece of writing Georgia 🙂

this is indeed a really moving and evocative capture about the cycle of life – and your words – so elegant and apt …. a lovely story for the image.

    {having read through the comments here – well I’m glad that your holidays were peaceful enough and that your son with was you …. and I wish you all the best for 2016 – may it be filled with abundance}

    Cheers ~Pat
