“How interesting is this!” Marcus gushed as they drove up Susan’s drive way in the country that Sunday morning.
“What are you going on about Marcus?” she said slightly irritated, dawn’s early light was not her favourite light of the day.
“Don’t tell me that you don’t see it! There!” he pointed at the old blue painted door with its pealing centre … “a city, reflected in a bay! It could be the sky-line of New York or Sydney – I’ll just have to draw in something characteristic to fix the location!” he said as he clicked off several shots of the door once the car had stopped.
He then ran to the boot of the car where he kept his emergency box of paint supplies he always travelled with. He insisted one never knew when inspiration might strike … and as a auto-defined conceptualist graffiti artist he wanted to be prepared.

Marcus sounds like a pain.

Yes and rather vain too.

I admit, until you pointed it out, I saw nothing in that chipped paint. I clearly do not have the eyes of a painter…lol. Nice story.

Thanks … I was trying to figure what to write when, like looking at clods that idea came to me. Glad you enjoyed the write.

Great idea and interesting take. I wish I had such a large surface to work on but I don’t think the results would be good!

You might be right … Marcus would see a master-piece in just about anything 😉 ergo his lady’s irritation.

I walk past that every time I go out, and I never noticed that. Great eye, and great story

Well, you know how it is … when something is on hand one tends to take it for granted – like the Colosseum in Rome 😉 Thanks for the inspiration Al …

Thanks … quite necessary if one is to be prepared for the odd master-piece!

I love it! The ability to see things where others see nothing is a gift. Imagine an old chapel building, cross and all…on a hill. I’m with Marcus… 🙂

Yeah a fellow seer! Really though, I think if we stopped for a sec we’d see so much more … remember as a kid watching the clouds make forms overhead?

ha…I still do that. I so love my digital camera, I can afford to shoot as many photos as I want. Silly stuff…but hey, sometimes that’s the best of all! 🙂

You can’t control when or where inspiration will strike! It’s a good job he’s always got his paints to hand – though I’m not sure Susan would agree. 🙂 Great story.

LOL .. He’s got the right of it … personally I carry a camera around 24/7 but then I do a different sort of art work … Susan is a grouser – but she fully backs him up 😉

Creative use of the prompt, Georgie. It could be turned into one of those things. Well done. 🙂 —- Suzanne
