“I’ve been writing this blog now since the second of January, 2013. So far, it’s been a satisfying experience. But why did I and do I write a blog?
Basically, I thought it would be nice to see if I could write something (outside of my tattered notebooks) and see if someone in the general public would find it interesting. Then again, I also thought it might be a way to leave something for my children and grandchildren to remember me by once I “shuffle off this mortal coil”.”
That’s how my front page begins, and I like it just the way it is…but much has happened since I wrote that About Bastet and The Blog!
First of all I now run two blogs. One for my writing, that is this one, entitled “Bastet and Sekhmet’s Library” and the other for my photographs entitled “Through the Eye of Bastet”
I’m also editor for WDBWP (We Drink Because We’re Poets) and do a three-part photography prompt a week for them entitled: “Bastet’s Pixelventures”, the follow-up is Pixelventures’ Flash Finish and on Saturday a mixed bag Pixelventures’ Close-up.
I’m also part of a group effort called the 13th Floor Paradigm where I put up a weekly Power Short prompt and write about Japanese poetry.
Finally I’ve joined the Poet’s Corner and write poems of course.
“Just a last word: I comment on people’s blogs from time to time…the problem is, that when I write my blogs, before I transfer them to WordPress, I use a program that has an automatic word corrector which keeps track of all my mistakes and either automatically corrects them or at least points them out…not so for comments. There was an old rule that I’d learned in school, and it goes like this: I before E except after C…when in doubt, I follow that rule. I’ll never understand why I keep misspelling this word: experience (truth be told…I tend to spell it expierience)?”
This is how I ended my introduction…and it’s still fundamentally true!

How do you keep up with all of that? I am truly impressed. Do you have a way to contact you via your blog?
I tried to turn off my plugin that protects my blog posts, but I really like it. However, I would like you to be able to access my photos if and when you choose to do so, and I was thinking I could add you as a user to my blog. I have the feature turned on, but I am not sure how it works exactly. Just a thought.

It’s such a delight! I got my start in blogging after I read “The Desires of Your Heart.” Today I was just looking for a little pick me up and I found it when I read your short story “Naughty Elves.” Thanks for the inspiration.

Busy Grandmother! Me too. Though I just write…I have several blogs – I don’t prompt (yet, maybe in a few years). Mostly a poet, but ventured into flash fiction. Nice to see you at Haibun Thinking.

Nice to meet you Jules! Sometimes I’ve prompted, thouh that was never my intention. I just liked the idea of writing! I’ve long been fascinated by Haiku and as this year passed I became more and more fascinated by Japanese poetry and theeir original way of mixing media. Since I discovered the Haibun, I’ve fallen in love! Ciao, Georgia!

And you have chosen a great title for this blog – it made me curious, what Bastet and Sekhmet would have got in their library… 🙂
