Melancholy Elfje – July 14, 2015

The Lady of Shalott

The Lady of Shalott

dark
midnight blue
that moon-less night
the couple embraced – passionately
love

summer
sultry nights
sleepless and dreamless
memories of lost loves
alone

woman
black and white
looking at photos
from her distant youth
memories

melancholia
purple velvet
wrapped in disillusion
her falling autumn leaves
history

Dawn Thoughts – June 26, 2014

June 26 Dawn

June 26 Dawn

(Elfje – Silence)

silence
mountains await
the first chatter
of happy singing birds
quiet

(Tanaga)

Pink sky streams around grey clouds
Over the mountains in shrouds
In silence – I hesitate
Early morn  – I meditate

 (Haiku)

odd  sound of silence
no chittering in the wind
summer dawn

Have a great morning and stop by Through the Eye of Bastet for a little morning reflection!

The Tanaga is a type of Filipino poem, consisting of four lines with seven syllables each with the same rhyme at the end of each line — that is to say a 7-7-7-7 Syllabic verse, with an AABB rhyme scheme

Shopping – Shadorma (Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie Prompt)

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAmaps and prints
ancient and modern
colorful
magical
inside a dark dusty shop
invites me to enter

looking
at prints
framed and ready
to add to my wall
souvineers

through the streets
near De Pero’s home
is a shop
pleasant sight
bits of history and color
a Lorelei call

Lost
Somber thoughts
In forgotten books
Philosophers, commedians and politicians
Lanquish

in the early dawn
thoughts like black clouds whispering
ephemeral fame

Spiders
Black webs
Capturing men’s minds
For a passing moment
Ideals

Written for and inspired by Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie Photo Challenge and Blog it or Lose it for the poetic combination.
