Renga me I’ll renga you — memory — July 29, 2015

I met Anmol back in 2013 and we began writing haiku about the same time.  We also participated at CDHK together and when I wrote prompts for the “Thirteenth Floor Paradigm” (which doesn’t exist any more) he would participate.  We had a lovely renga together back then, but alas, I didn’t think to copy the post to my archives and it’s now lost, but last year in July I wrote a post inviting anyone to add their continuation to my hokku to create a renga, then adding their own haiku for the next participant.  HA, as Anmol is know at MLMM was the first participant:

cool summer evening
stars twinkling like lightning-bugs
a flash of lightning

HA

a tree shudders in the dark
suddenly ablaze in light
.
mid-day clouds
not a single leaf moves
it is break time

Now I will continue this renga:

the calm before the storm
a solitary leaf – falls

fat rain drops
splatter the dusty tarmac
summer tempest

Heeding Haiku With Ha! May 1, 2014

I’ve tried to call upon all my muse to create a tanka or haiku which will reflect the honor that Anmol showed me this week by creating a prompt dedicated to Egyptian mythology!

Sunrise

Ra

through the ages, oh Ra!
you looked upon our green Earth
made the world flower
blessed the lives of your creatures
guided the wise Pharoah’s steps

yet now forgotten
throughtout the eons of time
you still shine brightly
warm is the sweet smile of Ra
ancient bestower of life

generous is he,
though no sacrifices burn
to honor his glory,
each day he gives us sun light
oh Ra, life giver of old

Haiku for HA – April 9, 2014

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAfirst new olive leaves
the groves dress their new greenery
white doves are cooing

walking down the path
serenity’s companion
early springtime dawn

maelstroms agitate
paths through peaceful olive groves
reconcile the soul

peace in springtime
far from austere politics
birds mating in the sky
