Morning Haiku and Waka – October 13, 2015

Ducks

rain drops in shadows
ducks playing under the bridge
river Sarca

that cloudy morning
walking along the river
wet leaves and cobwebs

companionable
the silence and the chatter
bubbling water

ripples in the flow
moments of encounter
serenity

Weekly Photo Challenge: An Unusual Point of View (4)

This will be the last Photographic Post on Bastet and Sekhmet, because now I have created a new Photographic Blog!  It’s called: Through the Eye of Bastet!  The URL is http://bastet1952.wordpress.com and I hope to see you there!

This week’s WordPress Photo Challenge:  challenge yourself to rethink your ideas about what subjects are appropriate, and then challenge yourself again to find an unusual perspective on your subject.

For today’s last effort, I’ve decided once again to look at Lake Garda.

Canal

I liked this softened photo of a ferry boat coming into port as seen from the Fortress’ moat bridge looking along the canal.

lake and bush

Here is a close-up of a bush with the lake and mountains in the back-ground, I liked the sailboat in the distance.

Have a great week, until next challenge, ciao!

Arco Castle

This is a shot I took this spring, in May.  However, it’s a shot you’ve rarely or ever seen here, as it has been taken from the south west.  You can see how the castle walls and walk way lead to the upper tower, which is impossible to see from the east, where I usually walk.

The Archduke's Palace

This shot was taken from the Archduke’s Botanical garden in Arco.  The light was all wrong, so I never published it.  However, rendering it in black and white, I was finally able to get that photographI wanted.

Hope you enjoyed these photos.

Photography: The Fortress Park – Riva del Garda, Italy

Riva from the Fortress Park

Riva from the Fortress Park

I’ve taken you to and around the Riva’s Fortress, also known as La Rocca, in the past.  Today I just thought I’ve give you a look at the Fortress Park.  Once you’ve crossed the moat, you turn right and you have a beautiful view of Riva’s port, the piazza going towards the “old port”, where the ferry boats are docked and of course the lake.
