Burning Advice – Shadorma – March 17, 2016

“Cooling waves”
pontificated
bright-eyed Sue
“won’t prevent
Dave getting frightfully burnt
just watch and you’ll see.”

And of course
she was just too right!
A lobster
was paler
than young Dave’s skin that evening
and far less in pain!

He’s happy
although a bit crisp.
He did say
he hates Sue’s
haunty know-it-all advice
and would druther burn.

Weekly Writing Prompt #28 Week 14th March 2016

Life Cycle – Diamante (Piramide) – June 13, 2014

Birth
First steps
In the labyrinth
That is our lifetime
Until we reach
The end
Death

Gone
His way
Looking sad
Lost in his thoughts
Not seeing
His way
Back

Pooky’s Poetry Prompt # 43 is dedicated to the piramide form, which I’d learnt as the diamante … The first poem is in ‘words’ : 1-2-3-4-3-2-1 and the second in ‘syllables’ : 1-2-3-4-3-2-1 of course they could have gone up further than just 4 lines before turning back … but I’m in a micropoetry mood 😉
