river

bubbling past
a joy to see
and then I think
of your history
similar to me
you’re
usually placid
but then
restricted
you rage
looking for your native bed
destroying everything
in your path…
ah men…
building all along your shores
have
forgotten there are days
when
a
river
needs to roar!
And so
do
I.

Triolet: marble cheese

marble cheeseTriolet

marble cheese

seems that art can be anything
from broken glass to marble cheese
maybe good taste is vanishing
seems that art can be anything
one mustn’t be condescending
though this modern art might not please
seems that art can be anything
from broken glass to marble cheese

Villanelle: Dear Life

Villanelle

Dear Life

Dear Life, what can I say
As I walked through your maze
I just wanted to get through each day

Keeping your monsters at bay
Following rules that society betrays
Dear Life what can I say

Yes, I ‘oft went astray
For your goals I could never appraise
I just wanted to get through each day

Well, I was no Dorian Grey
Yet I never lived by society’s clichés
Dear Life, what can I say

Now I’ve come to the end of your lay
I assure you I look upon this age in a daze
I just wanted to get through each day

Again as when I was young, revolution’s on the way
Can’t help wondering if you just like constant replays
Dear Life, what can I say
I just wanted to get through each day.

Blogging

This is just another morning
woke-up…writing
dreamt a poem
read the reader
wrote some comments

Maybe today’s somehow special
process photos
submit a post
search out a rhyme
write power shorts

Didn’t put up my weekly prompt
sit back and think
reflect and search
just go forward
I’ll do it now

Silly Poem: Giant’s Sheep

giant's sheep

Silly Poem

Giant’s Sheep

Oh the giant’s passed a terrible night!
Seemed to me a horrible fight!
Rumbling tumbling with flashes of light.
Kept me awake…it was quite a fright!

Then in the morning all was calm,
Even the sun came out at dawn!
Pondered did I but whereupon,
I looked in the mounts I saw their lawn!

They’d moved their sheep from high land!
To let them eat on the low grassland,
Now the hillsides are a wonderland!
Ah the sight of sheep is ever so grand!

Winter is cold upon mountains high!
All the shepherds bring their sheep nigh,
To pass the cold in the hills nearby,
So the giant’s sheep moved from the sky.
