summer passing – cascading haiku – June 16, 2015

olive grove

August winds and storms
the turning point of summer
autumn’s calling cards

burnt earth refreshed
the wine will soon be pressed
autumn’s calling cards

lighting the fire
in the evening to keep warm
autumn’s calling card

no more cherries
blackberries have all withered
autumn’s calling cards

another summer’s passing
see the first golden leaf
autumn’s calling card

a cool wind
summer passes
before it begins

late summer
even hotter by the breath
of dragonflies

the sadness of knowing
days grow shorter

between summer flowers
dreaming of next summer

tears shed
on my naked body …
summer is passing

(click the picture to see the full prompt and a great poem!)

“Another week has gone by and today I love to share another wonderful haiku written by our featured haiku-poet for this month, Hando. I have read wonderful haiku inspired on our first Special by Hando written by you all, my dear friends and family-members.
The haiku for today, is the following:

footprints in the sand
to here and there and nowhere
and the gull flying
(c) Hando

Footprints in the sand

our summer’s passing
marked by footprints in the sand
walking together
