Morning Haiku – July 24, 2015

flash of lightening
illuminating the lake
three drops of rain

Warm moments: hundred percent humidity one day in Djibouti.

Imagine living in forty-five* degree heat each day … without end.

morning dew
no – this wasn’t rain fall
just morning dew
with flashes of lightening
to jazz up the sky a bit

Watery Rill- tanka – July 17, 2015

gull and storm

gull and storm

watery rill
cascading between her breasts
seeking her release
in a summer storm

frenzied kisses
passionate – no longer tender
drench them in the storm
he sails into her harbour
safe haven in her arms*

wayward gull
flies in the summer tempest
the willow beckons
she longs for his touch
his windswept passion

A Troiku in Reply

morning stillness
ripped by thunder
the blackbird sings

morning stillness
the blackbird and robin play
on the rooftops

ripped by thunder
electricity in the air
in early morning

the blackbird sings
in triumph to his lady
rain drops fall

Monday Wordle with Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie – June 9, 2014

Mooring, knock, veriginous, lilac, peephole, features, wisp, oddity, laconic, eddy, brass

Thoughts of Summer Storms

knocked my cat against its mooring,
the sky, lilac with wisps of grey,
brought to mind laconic thoughts
of the illusory features,
and the oddities of a summer storm.
then came to mind
the eddying of a hurricane
passing overhead,
as seen through the peephole of its eye.
I was carried me away,
imagining whirlwind tides
in tropical seas, I’d never seen.
the brass bell rang,
thanks to the wind …
and I returned, home.
