flashing explosions
rockets red glare through the night
Fourth of July!
Tilus
The morning begins bright
until noon
rain
Shadorma
renga fun
japanese poetry
comes to life
as we play
Ha, Jan and Oliana
like ancient poets

comes to life
as we play
Ha, Jan and Oliana
like ancient poets
stale beer stink
peanuts and pretzels
honky tonk
football games
men sitting around at night
some shooting the breeze
wife at home worrying
is he drunk
fear
frustration
sogged down in strong beer
Saturday
pay-day blues
another week’s work over
no where else to go
black
his humor
as he leaves
his pals that night,
angry
swollen ire
inside emptiness
wife beater,
his fist flies
no way else to let off steam
police come too late
Written for Shadorma Photo Prompt # 11
Contemplation
one more step
along the endless climb
I call life
towards death
or maybe transformation
who can really say
towards bright heaven’s stars
atoms fly
peace
one more step
contemplating life
into the sun
into the night
and if there’s nothing at all
still, the birds have sung
Written for Shadorma Photo Prompt #8 (the small poem that separates the two shadorma is a tilus).
